IIt seems that COVID-19 is determined to become "COVID-22 no matter what we do!” So here is how we are planning to proceed.
We are seeing a huge spike in positive tests and the positive case rate has tripled since December. The California Department of Public Health has not issued any new directives regarding faith-based organizations so we will meet in the Orange County Church of Christ, in-person under existing guidelines issued by the state and local Health Departments:
1) Wearing masks is required for the unvaccinated and strongly recommended for the vaccinated.
2) In settings where masks are required only for unvaccinated people, businesses, venue operators or hosts may choose to provide information to all patrons, guests, and attendees regarding vaccination requirements and allow vaccinated people to self-attest that they are complying before they enter.
3) If anyone has been exposed or is symptomatic in any way, they should not attend in-person services, quarantine for 5 days, and get tested if possible.
4) The elderly, the medically fragile, and the immunocompromised might find it safer to attend online and we will do our best to present a high-quality, live feed for all sessions.
We as a committee remain closely attentive to the ever-changing situation and will adjust where ever necessary to remain safe and compliant with our State authorities.
These are trying times indeed. But we are resilient people! If for no other time than this, let’s remain “joyful in hope, patient in affliction and faithful in prayer!”
